On February 20, 2007 accreditation of the Executive MBA (EMBA) and the International MBA (IMBA), offered by the International Institute of Business, were endorsed by the Association’s International Accreditation Advisory Board. With this IIB has successfully completed the accreditation process that continued for over a year and has become the first and the only one business school in Ukraine accredited by a leading accreditation body in the world.

Master Class Outline:

"Getting Value from Marketing - How Marketing Expenditure Increases Shareholder Value". The master class will link the activities of Strategic Marketing with the creation of shareholder value with

particular reference to brands and communication.

11th October in Kyiv in third times will take place a great event in business education field - QS World MBA Tour fair. IIB will present two programs: Executive MBA and International MBA, both accredited by Association of MBAs. Participation in QS World MBA Tour grant a opportunity to you obtain latest information about modern business-education trends, to meet with MBA students, representatives of business schools and admission commissions.

QS World MBA Tour fair will take place 11th October, in a hotel "Kiyvska Rus" from 17:00 till 21:00.

Last week, on 17^th October 2007, 31 students of 7^th generation of ЕМВА 2007 program of International Institute of Business have started their studying.

According to the tradition, the program starts with the 3 day orientation strategic session outside of the Institute in Koncha Zaspa, picturesque surroundings of Kyiv neighborhood.

The orientation session was delivered by Gennadii Yushkin, business trainer, who has a great experience in the field of strategic planning, organizational development and financial management Students took part in business game, which imitates the real situation of company’s life with the regarding of current situation of market, competition, development of new types of production and other factors, which influence essentially on the activity of real business. Such approach allows audience not only to enhance additional practical skills of making decisions they face in everyday management practice, but also to get better acquainted with each other.

    Graduation of the second cohort International MBA program took place on October, 27. President Alexander Mertens, lecturers and administration of IIB congratulated graduates with successful completion of the program. Graduates noted that program, besides fundamental knowledges and systemic vision gave them an impulse to growth and personal development. We sincerely wish our graduates new significant achievements and victories, because success of business school – it is success of its alumni.

     During the period from 5 to 6^th of November 2007 the delegation of IIB, which consisted of Prof. Henrik Sternichuk, Head of Supervisory Board, Alexandr Mertens, President of IIB, Olga Karpova, Head of Academic Programs Department, Jurii Zelenin, Chief Accountant visited the Central European University (CEU) and CEU High School of Business in Budapest, Hungary. The purpose of visit was to exchange of experience and to foster cooperation development between educational institutions. The members of IIB delegation had a numbered meetings with the management of University and Business school, where were discussed the actual problems of business and management education of Ukraine and Hungary, the possibilities of faculty. exchange, joint participation in the international projects, development of researches and other issues. This visit became positive due to assistance of Higher Education Support Program of Open Society Institute (HESP/OSI).

Knowledges, attention, relationships, trust – all of that can be said about director of agency ESCADRA- Yuriy Gorokhovskom (alumnus of the IIB Executive MBA `04).

    On Saturday 24th of November, students of МВА programs and graduates (alumni) of all years attended regular session of MBA club.

    Dr. Alexander Mertens, the President of IIB, has opened the session. In an opening address he had updated MBA club members about the basic changes which have occurred in IIB since the times of last meeting.

    According to the tradition at the beginning of the session introduction of students of Executive and International МВА programs of 2007, who are new members joining the Club, took place.

    Dr. Alexander Mertens has presented the results of survey conducted among MBA Club members and has invited to discussion concerning topics and format of the future meetings. Participants have actively joined in discussion, offering interesting initiatives. In particular, Nikolay Fabro, graduate (alumnus) of ЕМВА’03, the executive director of "South-Contract" company, has suggested entering supporting reports which will be prepared by participants on following sessions. The majority of Club members have supported such initiative.

    After discussion of all general questions there has come time of the "Category Management", main topic of the meeting. Popularity of Category Management as management technology increases and today more and more Ukrainian companies implement it into practice. Irina Ulyanova, managing partner of Advanter Group, has acted with the interactive report. She has shared the secrets of increase of efficiency, by consideration of a commodity category, as independent business-unit, and principles which allow developing more ample opportunities for management of goods.

    The presentation caused a considerable interest and active discussion which was not limited to working session and has continued informally during buffet dinner.

    XXI Century and the International Institute of Business are set to found the first Ukrainian Real Estate Development Centre. The Centre will provide high-quality education and research facilities for the real estate development and management sector.

    As well as this, two courses at the Centre are being sponsored by XXI Century, one in Development and Real Estate Management and an internationally accredited MBA course in Real Estate Development. These courses have been created due to the great demand for professionals to work on developing the Ukrainian real estate and construction markets. Until now there was no university that could provide international standard training for specialists in this sphere.
