Irrational energy consumption is a "black hole" of the Ukrainian economy and the state budget, in particular. Heating of equivalent facilities in Ukraine is 2-3 times more expensive than European analogues and energy efficiency of the country is 3.5 times below the EU average performance. On one hand, this suggests that Ukraine has inflated energy costs and on the other hand, it does not allow the country to achieve energy independence. This is bad news.

The good news is that even the first actions in the energy modernization will allow reducing energy consumption in municipal and public sector by 20-40%. The second good news is that the market for services for energy modernization even on the first stage is about 200 billion UAH, which creates tremendous opportunities for business.

Business itself is already busy with improving its energy efficiency by transition to alternative and renewable energy sources. Which increases its competitiveness and creates new investment niches.

Solutions for energy modernization and energy efficiency, as well as sources of investment for the implementation of relevant programs, new business opportunities and modern energy technologies - all of these will be in the focus on March 31st, 2015 in Kiev during the Day of Energy Efficiency: "The chance for business, the chance for Ukraine."

  1. Creating a legislative framework to let business improve the energy efficiency of municipal and state organizations and enterprises. The implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU in terms of energy efficiency improvements for 2015.
  2. Investments in energy efficiency of municipal and public sector: sources, opportunities, risks.
  3. International assistance programs for improvement of energy efficiency in Ukraine.
  4. New technological solutions for improvement of energy efficiency.
  5. Solutions for condominiums: energy efficiency of apartment buildings.

Panel 2

"Improving energy efficiency in the private sector: tools for cost reduction and opportunities for business development"

  1. Renewable and alternative sources of energy, autonomous heating system and hot water supply.
  2. Energy modernization (including buildings), the optimization of energy consumption, energy utilization.
  3. Energy accounting and energy audit of business.
  4. Autonomous power generation (including "green tariff").
  5. Financing projects aimed at increasing energy efficiency: options and opportunities.
