Such an approach enables students not only to master additional practical skills of solving everyday managerial tasks, but also to better get to know the other participants on the course.

The ceremony marking the opening of the program on 18th October was attended by distinguished guests who roused the students and pointed towards arresting, but arduous and difficult work. Victor Askanas, Professor of management at the University of New Brunswick (Canada) recounted about the charge of the Executive MBA being to engender high standards of management in a company which are based upon service to society. Only then can a company get the resources needed for its successful functioning. New instruments which enable the comprehension of patterns emerging in the world in the current trend towards globalization are presented whilst teaching the program. Mr. Bulent Gyultekin, Professor of finances at the Wharton Business School at University of Pennsylvania (USA), highlighted the importance not only of new knowledge, but of the community that will be created by students over the two years as being a valuable source of experience, practical knowledge and new business contacts.

Henryk Sterniczuk, Professor of management and international business at the University of New Brunswick, Chairman of the Advisory Board and first President of the IIB in his welcome appealed to the students to develop leadership qualities which will facilitate the taking of the first step and leading colleagues by means of the successful development of the company.

Teaching within the business school began with an introductory lecture about the well-known Ukrainian economist, Alexander Paskhaver, President of the Centre for Economic Development. The lecture was dedicated to the more recent history of Ukraine and the fundamental tendencies in the development of the economy in our country.

The team at the International Institute of Business congratulates students on the start if a new academic year, and wishes everyone inspiration and perseverance in their studies!
