News IIB

New logo has been developed for the clear visualization of IIB" s new goals. Our target is to be a world leader in the field of business education. At present MBA programs, offered by IIB, are included in the world’s TOP 200, but in the nearest future they should go into the TOP 100.

We are willing that IIB"s students should become at least the leaders of Eastern European level, if not of the world standard. We believe that the leaders only may achieve success in business in the new reality of post-crisis world.

It is well known that a rough diamond becomes a distinguished jewel owing to the ability and mastery of the workers. In a similar way our instructors, with their proficiency and enthusiasm, help IIB"s students to achieve the highest success in business and become the world-class specialists.

Two IIB’s students - Alexey Dolgyh, student of the International MBA program, director of Pedersen&Partners Kyiv office, and Alexander Krasnov, International MBA program graduate 2011, managing partner of United Consultants company - both were included into the top list of the best Ukrainian head-hunters according to Forbes publication. September 2012 issue of Forbes magazine has presented 4 best head-hunters of Ukraine in the field of Executive Search. Among "Fab Fours" there were Alexey Dolgyh and Alexander Krasnov, two leaders of Ukrainian head-hunting, who had direct liaison with IIB’s International MBA program. The rating was done according to the results of a survey, made among the top-managers and Ukrainian specialists in head-hunting, and HR directors of largest companies.

the workshop on the subject "Managing in Creative Economy" will be held at the International Institute of Business. The quest speaker of IIB is professor ROBERT D. AUSTIN, dean of the faculty of business administration, New Brunswick University, Canada.

During the workshop Professor Austin will share with the participants his vision on why, since the advent of the Industrial Revolution, managers have improved business outcomes by improving reliability and efficiency. The management principles, processes, and practices derived during this time have been very successful in creating societal wealth and raising the standard of living around the world. More recently, a variety of factors, including technological advance, globalization of labor markets, and the rise of knowledge/experience economies have directed attention to a different set of principles, processes, and practices: those that lead to "creative" outcomes. Creative firms" produce value, not by generating similar outputs efficiently, but by generating novel outputs more valuable than their predecessors. This interactive session in a workshop format examines the nature of work and management that can consistently produce valuable creative outcomes. We’ll consider cases across industries and organizations, and discuss an emergent set of practices common in creative companies.

While the government dedicated its scarce resources to managing external risks in relations with Russia, the overall level of domestic security risks is increasing

President Yanukovych’s administration has recently intensified its activity in the reformation of the country’s security sector. The reform steps include management changes in the power Ministries of the Interior and Defense, the Security Service and the National Security and Defense Council, the establishment of the Committee for the Reform of the Armed Forces and the Military–Industrial Complex. In actual fact, the pace of reform is very slow. The cornerstone strategic planning and management document – the draft National Security Strategy – was prepared back in 2010, but it has only recently been approved by the President. This article examines the reasons for the slow pace of reform and suggests that the problems stem from the system of "national values" wherein "national security" is still largely associated with "State Security". While the government dedicated its scarce resources to managing external risks in relations with Russia, the overall level of domestic security risks is increasing. Thus, a value focus on the "people" dimension of security is suggested to step up reform.
