Productivity Center

As Ukrainian businesses dedicate more time to dealing with issues of how to raise effectiveness in the sphere of governance, marketing and finance, they are increasingly becoming aware of the need for changes in operational (productivity) activities. The operational system is the core of any business. Successful operation management will satisfy market interests effectively and will also have a positive effect on the long-term prospects of a business. It is vital for today’s managers to understand how to effectively govern the firm’s resources so that they can increase their competitiveness. This is why the IIB created a new structural component within its organization—the Productivity Development Centre.

This Centre was created with the aim of providing assistance to Ukrainian companies in developing their competitiveness and increasing productivity through adaptation and implementation of international experience in production and operation management.

The Centre’s activities are focused on the following areas:

• Developing educational programs on production and operation management, project management;
• Training of Ukrainian business executives in the sphere of operation management and business governance;
• Professional development of faculty members and instructors;
• Consulting and research projects in operations management for Ukrainian and international businesses;
• Establishing long-term partnerships with foreign educational and consulting institutions, and also with Ukrainian and international businesses.

Today, the central focus of the activities of the Centre is the development of operations management. Considering that the generally accepted leader in innovation and in developing quality systems of governance is Germany, the Centre combines and coordinates work with foreign partners in the following projects:

– Teaching and consulting on questions of organizational productivity, process optimisation, logistic together with REFA, ORTIM, SDZ.

The Centre cooperates with Western partners in the following activities:

• Transferring of knowledge and experience to Ukraine
• Establishing contacts with Western and Ukrainian businesses in areas of consulting and research projects (by including students from MBA programs)
• Resource support for educational researching and methodology activities

Cooperating with Western partners, the Centre is able to adapt Western concepts regarding operations management to suit the needs of Ukrainian businesses. Also, it allows the Centre to carry out research and use its findings to develop academic courses and new programs for companies
