On February 20, 2007 accreditation of the Executive MBA (EMBA) and the International MBA (IMBA), offered by the International Institute of Business, were endorsed by the Association’s International Accreditation Advisory Board. With this IIB has successfully completed the accreditation process that continued for over a year and has become the first and the only one business school in Ukraine accredited by a leading accreditation body in the world.

On January 26, 37 new students of the PD and PPD CIM programs started their classes at the CIM Accredited Study Centre at IIB. The Ukraine’s only CIM Accredited Study Centre is now successfully operating in Ukraine for 10 years.

This year marketing people from chemical, telecom, banking, food processing, advertising and consulting industries participate in the CIM programs. They work for Reckitt Benckiser LLC, Astelit, Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Daewoo Electronics, HUDSON, Grey International, BAT, Arterium, Manzaro Global Ventures, MASMI, Ratiopharm, Аlcatel, Kyivstar, Ehrmann, etc.

Since 1997 nearly 400 marketers successfully accomplished their studies at IIB’s Accredited Study Centre. Now they are the driving force of the many domestic and multinational companies operating in Ukraine. All the CIM graduates are implementing best international business practices into their day-to-day activities and thus they provide for better integration of Ukraine’s business into global environment.



 

Dr. Alexander Mertens, the President of the IIB delivered his presentation at the "UKRAINE’S CHANGING PLACE IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY" conference. The Conference was held within the First National Exhibition of Ukraine in Chicago (Ukraine).

Dr. Mertens’s presentation covered private equity and venture investments opportunities in Ukraine (Private Equity and Venture Capital Investments in Ukraine: Five Reasons to Consider and Five Remaining Problems to be Transformed into Opportunities).

 



 

IIB launches the contest for the best IMBA essay (Statement of Interest). The winner will receive a 15% tuition fee discount scholarship for studying at International MBA program. IIB also establishes two promotional prizes: 5% tuition fee discount scholarships for IMBA program.


 

During 27 - 28th of November IIB hosted acceditation visit of the official AMBA accreditation panel. The panel including Prof. Mark Oakley, Pro Vice Chancellor, Aston Business School (Aston University, Birmingham), Prof. Larisa Kartashova, Vice-Dean for International Affairs and Development, "Sinerghia" Economics and Finance Institute, Mr Chris D. Bristow, Director of Postgraduate Management Programmes, Kent Business School (University of Kent, Canterbury), Mr. Peter Calladine, Accreditation Services Manager (London) decided to recommend IIB MBA programme for accreditation by AMBA. The accreditation process will be completed after official endorsement of panel’s report by the International Accreditation Advisory Board (IAAB).

The International Institute of Business is delighted to congratulate Mr. Andriy Kharkov on his defending his PhD (Medicine) Degree thesis. We wish Dr. Kharkov on-going success in his scientific and business activities.

 

Early November at IIB was abundant in events. IIB’s experts participated in the national events, new programs got started and courses were taught to the students.

On November 10 – 11 International Institute of Business conducted the "Legal and Organizational Issues of Ukrainian Railways Restructuring" Seminar for senior officers of Ukrzaliznytsa.

Both IIB faculty and Ukrzaliznytsa officials discussed corporate governance issues and corporatization problems pending under restructuring plans. Mr. Yuri Fedushin, First Deputy General Director for Ukrzaliznytsa, Mr. Victor Petrov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Mr. Olexander Potimkov, Deputy Chairman of the State Property Fund of Ukraine, Mr. Serhiy Biruk, Commissioner of the Securities and Stock Market State Commission and other top officials from governmental agencies participated in the seminar.

Ms. Tetiana Pavlovska got awarded with the Scholarship for "Brand Creation and Brand Management" seminar by Dr. Natalia Pysarenko.

International Institute of Business and Training.com.ua project conducted this competition together on October 16 through November 3.
